Cell C Speed Test Results

The highest speed I have gotten from Cell C at my flat

Would love to show you mine but I just don't have the 30min odd it takes to run the Speedtest.

Can't wait for this Cell C contract to expire so I can get something faster, like string.....

Wait a sec....I did manage to get a result after all...

Cell C's coverage in East London really pisses me off (I assume you did the test in EL). I get roughly the same when I am in East London...its been years, I wonder why Cell C hasn't fixed this yet?

Yup, test done in ELN with a supposed 93% signal strength. Can only assume that the service is over-subscribed. No worries, having to go with Telkom Mobile it would seem.....

Never seen anything close to this before

CellC HSPA in Beaulieu, Kyalami - increased speed from around 5Mbps down / 1.5Mbps up to almost 18Mbps down / 2.7Mbps up by moving the usb modem around 50cm away from the PC/Monitor and putting it on a powered usb hub ... Poynting Big Boss antenna helps too, but it was hooked up all along.

Hope this isn't a flash in the pan - I'll be checking daily to see if it stays this way

Where are you guys getting these speeds? I left Cell C like a month ago. Couldn't even perform a speedtest, that's how pathetic my experience was.

I am 100% with you on this one. I have just moved to afrihost and it is way faster and cheaper, don't know why I waited so long to switch. Good riddance to bad service

I think with Cell C it is that 50/50 situation...either your area is not congested or it is - and Cell C is taking ages sorting out their bad area's.

Ages is more like never. Why can't cellc tower reach speeds of 20Mbps like MTN and Vodacom can? if they could have reached that speed then the congestion would not have been so high.

Now they have like 10 - 12Mbps MAX speeds on their towers and that only means that at the same time 12 people would get like 1Mbps each. God forbid 50 people try and use the internet the same time.....
