Cell C Speed Test Results

It fluctuates quite a lot, at times it is very slow and then suddenly picks up again. Lets hope it stabilises over the next week or two.

As stated, my speed keeps on picking up:

Just bought the Cell C 5gb x 12 month data sim, with 21.6Mbit modem! Here's my first speed result, looks a bit lower than average, but ping is amazing! (35 ms)

NOTE: that voda ping looks suspiciously low... it's normally above 300, and sometimes even in the thousands... And yes, it is HSDPA 3.6

Bought the 60GB yesterday. Last night was rather iffy, but today its not so bad. I'm in the North Riding area, about 1km from Northgate.



300% better than VC or MTN, so I'm happy.

I've been downloading a 90MB file now for the last hour and a half. Getting 5kB/s - 10kB/s most of the time and every now and then a 100kB/s spike. It's terrible man. R1499 wasted.

Heads up to those that live in the south of JHB.

Coverage is still poor here, I'm getting EDGE only.

If you look at the coverage map you'll see that Oakdene/Bassonia/Glenvista etc... are not covered. (light red)

So wait a few more months before you buy the dongle.

We expect coverage only mid-January.
