Cell C suspends Black’s linear channels

Cell C has suspended the linear channels of its video streaming service Black, as it enters negotiations with content providers.

The company told MyBroadband that Black customers will continue to have access to music, series, and movies – even though linear channels have been temporarily suspended.

Cell C should just shut down the service. It is crowded market requiring a lot of investment with intense competition and competitors with deep pockets. Cell C can't afford a loss leader and it is not part of their core business.

Am I the only one who doesn't know what a linear channel is?
It is relic of the olden days where people couldn't choose what to watch when and content were just blasted out according to some predefined schedule. Old people still consume content in such a primitive fashion with a legacy service called "Dstv". Some nostalgic people hankering at simpler times in the past emulate the experience on the internet.

I think they should have focused on VoD more linear TV is for DStv, people like On Demand content when it comes to internet TV

Desperate, game ending move for them I think, to have even started down this 'Black' road.
