Hi,
I have a Nokia N95 - which has VOIP (SIP) and WIFI support, so I can get my office calls on my cell - which is amazingly awesome!
But now I'm due for an upgrade, and I have no idea what to choose.
As far as I know only Nokia handsets have this awesome wifi - sip - built-in voip app combo.
But, all their funky new phones seem to be dropping it. As far as I can see, the N96 and E71 both don't have these features - even though their predecessors do.
My gripes with the N95 are that it's
FRIGGEN SLOW - like unbareably slow
Chows batteries - like 3 a day
Reboots randomly - even during important calls

Does anyone else use these type of functions, perhaps have a phone that does it better?

One guy in the office has the flip open communicator - it's huge and also slow - I believe it also has trouble connecting to the VOIP server automatically.

The Nokia E71 and E66 still have the SIP functionality that was available on the N95 and older E-series phones. The configuration of SIP has been made a lot easier for certain service providers.

E90 is gr8

Hi, i got a Nokia E90...it works perfect with SIP/VOIP...no probs at all.

the battery usage depends on the settings and the more u talk/use the phone the more ur battery will b used.

i dont mind charging the phone every night if i need to.

:)

use some FREEWARE Addons for the connection probs u facing.

Hi,
What freeware apps would you suggest?
I actually did a firmware upgrade on my N95 this weekend, and it works 100% better! the battery life is improved, VOIP audio quality is better. I'm just really upset that the firmware update deleted all my landmarks, apparently they are not included in a full system backup.
Steven.
