CellC dashboard doesn't report data used.

I normally use the Windows dialup system (XP Pro, SP3) to connect to the Internet and I monitor data usage through NetMeter. MDMA runs quite happily in parallel so I can see what tower I am connecting to and what the signal strength is.

I also have Ubuntu on the computer and, while I mainly still use Windows, I often log on using Ubuntu. Data used here, and it can be quite high when there is an update, obviously doesn't get recorded by NetMeter. I haven't been able to find the equivalent of NetMeter in Linux so, short of noting usage on a piece of paper each time (that's NOT going to happen :) ), I don't actually know exactly how much data I still have left.

In the past I've logged on occasionally, especially towards the end of the month, using the CellC dashboard which has the facility to display the balance of data available. (60Gb promotion, 5Gb/month prepaid) Normally I click on the button and literally in seconds the balance is displayed. Today, nothing even after waiting for 5 minutes.

Is it just me that CellC is ignoring today or are others having the same problem?

You can do that balance check thru any dash that supports USSD - *101#

HI Tun@

I don't see why not through as each USSD code is unique to the provider,
And if not on their network wont be accessible.

Sure, but if the problem is at the CellC end then it won't matter what dashboard I use. The fact that the CellC dashboard used to report usage and now does again without any finger-poking on my part seems to indicate that it was a glitch at the CellC end.

Sometimes the USSD systems are just overloaded (especially near month-end) and you have to keep trying to get a response to your query.
I have also seen 3G modems just stop sending USSD queries, and the only way to get them to start again is to reset (or unplug and replug) them.

HI MervynB

Glad to hear that.
Like ginggs said could of been a system issue,
As we where also loading and setting up the routes and channels,
For the new website that we launched.
