I have been having issues with CellC data on my iPhone since January, on and off. Somedays no issues, others no data connection. So I decided to do a test on my old Nokia E71 (3G with same frequency bands as iPhone) on prepaid.

99% of the time my Nokia can get speeds of between 200kbps to 600kbps on (Mobilespeedtest.com) when my iPhone cannot even reach Whatsapp or Gmail servers (i.e. no data connection).

I think there is a fundamental flaw in how CellC handles new smart phones or how the newer smartphones interact with CellC when there is congestion on the network. Don't mind have a slow connection with access to emails (text) and Whatsapp, but no connection when my Nokia is working makes me "jump" to this conclusion.

Want to hear your experiences if you experience something similar. Please use template below. Will post mine next.

Yes, one post paid, one prepaid. (Editted my second post (Workaround))

Cannot intercharge them, as one is micro sim and other is regular sim.

So you're testing two different devices and two different SIM cards.
BTW, Does your E71 support HSDPA or is it 3G only?

Cannot intercharge them, as one is micro sim and other is regular sim.
Get yourself a micro SIM adapter:

(or get a micro SIM from 8ta, comes with a free adapter)

Also try trimming you prepaid SIM and see if you get the same results as your contract SIM.

Nokia E71 can handle the following

2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100

but have never experience HSDPA speeds on it though.

Tried 6 cellphone stores to buy an adapter and then gave up after all where out of stock. So bought a prepaid card instead. Will maybe buy another prepaid card and trim that one done and do another comparison.

Having precisely the same problem.
Using a Samsung tablet as a router. Speeds on the Samsung +/- 2/3 mbps

My iPhone directly next to it is stuck on Edge with a speed of 0.01mbps.

I had no issues until about three weeks ago.

No started the famous run around with cell c: Please PM me......

There will be no prices for the correct answer for this question: What happened after that PM?
