Hi

Anyone can suggest a solution.

There is a dead spot on cellc at our offices. My phone wont roam on Vodacom. I can see a full signal but it wont connect. Tried everything under network settings, HSPDA, edge and selected vodacom but wont allow me to roam.

Is it a network setting?

Update, I heard that cellc has turned of roaming in certain areas where they "think" they have sufficient coverage. However in our building we have mtn and vodacom everywhere but cellc is limited.

Does not help....

Perhaps it is for the best, because it has been spread around mybroadband that apparently Vodacom was giving Cell C customers a "bad experience" on purpose to make Cell C look bad.

Disregard posts from well known Vodacom moles. In the past when experiencing problems with strong Vodacom towers, Cell C was turning off roaming in some areas in order to test how roaming agreement disturb their network. Since the roaming agreement has been updated to use Vodacom's 3G, there is no reason for such action.

The most probably Vodacom RNC in your area hasn't been updated yet to accomodate new agreement. PM Cell C rep on the forum, let them investigate.

actually it's quite the opposite, found Vodacom to be the only stable network when I roam on it with my CellC, kinda does not work with the GIGA's so kinda pointless.

Now if only Vodacom would release a non contract and affordable package for once that isn't a total ripoff that can even remotely compare to the amount of data CellC offers, that would be great.

I don't think Vodacom even has midnight bundles on prepaid.

Vodacom seems to be massively dependant on the signal strength though, when it comes to stability.
You either get a very poor or very good connection.

CellC - can you shed light on the policy on roaming?

Why is it being switched off....

Hi guys and girls

My mother bought a 5gig promo deal at R99 pm but the reception is so unstable its literally unusable...

Now I tested roaming on Vodacom and it seems one million times better!

Is there any additional cost involved if I set roaming on Vodacom? If not, it will sort out a lot of pain in our lives...

Hope someone can shed some light as I did search the forums and got a post from 2011 and 2013 but I would like some updated news if you know what I mean....

AFAIK, All Giga packages are non-roaming. As your price is promotional (R99 for Giga20=5+15GB) the upgrade price tag would be high. As you can detect Cell C signal, external antenna should help significantly to improve connection and it is one-time expense. Stay with this contract, there is nothing cheaper around.

While searching for external antenna solution, try to set device to LTE-only (3G-only if not covered by LTE) or do manual network search on the device and chose Cell C. If modem is not trying handover to Vodacom towers, stability connection is better.
