For the last 2 or 3 weeks the 3 people in our household have all been experiencing issues with certain cellphone apps not running on our fibre wifi.
We all have Samsungs of varying ages and complexity, from A72 to S22. Fibre provider is Vumatel, ISP is Afrihost.
WiFi 5 connection, I believe.
Apps are Checkers, OneDayOnly, Dischem - These just refuse to open and error out.
Others like Takealot just take ages to open. Spotify sometimes cuts out a little.
There are probably other apps that struggle too, but being shopping apps, we use these most often. They all work just fine on cellphone data if you turn wifi off.
The S22 is the only one that had a recent OS update. Fibre speed is excellent, so that's not the issue.
We've done several power cycles on the fibre and other hardware to try solve it. No change.
Just to make it weirder, at a different location with same fibre and ISP providers, but a brand new WiFi 6, everything seems ok.
Any clues? Is this a stunt to make us upgrade our hardware?
