As some of you know, I have a Nexus 5. It is really a great phone and I love the look and feel. If anyone ever wonders if they should get one, I would say yes in less than a heartbeat.

My other phone is a Galaxy S2 and is at standby should it be required.

I am however required to get another phone. It must be an Android phone (personal preference). No doubt it would be more powerful than the other 2. I just don't know what to get since the Nexus fills all my needs (well cellular wise anyway)

Go ahead, offer your wisdom...

EDIT: I must get it on contract

When is it coming out?

No idea. It will probably be announced shortly (later this month), but it might take some time to come to SA. Like I said, this is only an option if you have time on your side.

Your currently available options are basically:

Galaxy S5
LG G2
HTC One M8
Galaxy Note 3
Sony Xperia Z2

How about getting a Note 3? Just for variety's sake.

I will check them out on gsmarena today. I did consider the Note, but it is too big. My brother in law has one - I think I should pay with it over the weekend.

I don't know. With the phones out recently, this seems too old. But I might as well check it out too

S5 (ADH)
or Z2 (Fully Waterproof)
or One M8 (Awesome sound)

In a similar predicament.

My top two options are S5 and Note 3.

I'm leaning towards the Note 3 since I need the bigger screen, however the Note 3 has been around for a while and the rumours are saying that the Note 4 will be out second half of this year :erm:

Why do you need to get another phone?

I'd say S5, actually. Even if you aren't too taken with the phone itself, the water/dust resistance along with ADH Warranty makes it a very good option, methinks.

What do you need the other phone for? If you're still going to be carrying around the Nexus 5 (I understand your sentiment, because I'm really enjoying mine too), perhaps you should consider the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. Similar performance and a few added advantages (camera, waterproofing), but the more pocketable size might be a bonus.

I would get the Electric Blue Samsung Galaxy S5. :)

Just because tech web sites reckon it has the best display ever put on a smartphone. That's what I would like to look at for the next two years. :) And there are some funky covers for it.

The LG G3 is definitely a powerhouse coming our way, but if you feel the Note 3 is too big, the G3 will be the same, as it also has a 5.5'' QHD display + I suspect the battery life won't be very good.

Let's hope LG can prove me wrong, but I honestly think 5.5'' might just be too uncomfortable for a lot of people, including myself.

I don't particularly NEED it since I have a very nice phone already. I am required to have another one though (can't really say why). The phone will be used in exactly the same manner as my Nexus.
