Cellphone exploded last night.

You heard the stories about exploding cellphone batteries, well my Jasjar blew its top last night. Lucky i was at home otherwise it could have burnt the house down, the remnants of the battery were glowing red hot.

In fairness to imate it was a generic battery bought off ebay about a year ago - wont be doing that again. Will post some pics when i get a moment.

Did you check that it was a true generic? Sometimes they fake the generic ones too :(

I got a supposedly "OEM" battery off ebay. When comapring the two it is as clear as daylight that the one is a FAKE. But I tossed the battery in any case and reported the seller.

For next time, The generic ones at vodacom is not That expencive. ;)
 
My Jasjar fell off a roof onto bricks, I replaced the covers and it still works, tough bricks those phones are but I suppose an exploding battery would kill it. If you want another one you can buy mine seems to be working better after the fall :D

What do you mean a true generic? How can a generic be fake?
 
Scary stuff.

One of those exploding in your pocket...and you might have to adopt.
