Centurion VDSL Rollout

Im in the rooihuiskraal area 012 661 and I'm so frustrated with my ADSL 4Meg line. Its simply not stable enough to do anything. I'm 3kms away from the exchange.

If FTTH was an option, I'd sign up right now. Dark Fibre has cables running right next to my house but no one in the area is doing last mile connections. Sucks!
 
Well, well, well. Looks like an electricity meter appeared in the MSAN meterbox here in the middle of Irene. VDSL so close I can taste it.
 
I'm happy to report that I am finally able to upgrade. I'm located in Die Hoewes and extension is 012 663. I was actually moved to a brand new exchange, much closer to me. After two weeks without connection a Telkom techie had to come connect me back up. I then noticed that I connected on ADSL 2+, instead of GMT or whatever it was previously. I requested an upgrade to 10 Mbps and it was done about an hour later.

I imagine I can switch to VDSL, but then I'll have to buy a new router. Good luck with everyone else's struggles in Centurion!

It is possible to get 20mbps on a ADSL2+ as well, so you don't need to buy a new router.
 
Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know anything regarding the upgrade of 012 656 numbers (rooihuiskraal north area), close to mall @ reds. been on 4Mbps for ages :(
