For some reason, quite a number of the websites that I normally visit, will not load this morning on my Telkom Mobile/8ta connection.

www.mybroadband.co.za is working ok, so able to post here.

These for example are not:
www.kapstadt.de
www.wunderground.com
www.whatsmyip.org

These sites are all loading fine on Cell C and Vodacom at the moment.
A friend checked these sites on his ADSL line (Telkomsa ISP) and they load fine as well.

Any other Telkom Mobile users having similar problems?

Yes since 2pm yesterday for me.

Looks like half of the websites dont load at all and all gaming ports are blocked.

No Origin, Battlelog or even Procon... Steam wont even connect.

Yup, same for me.

Can't access any international sites, only local.

It sucks huge.

Having the same issue. Really annoying because theres stuff I need to do and now I cant. If you want to run a business, dont think you can rely on 8ta. The fact that I can barely connect in the evenings and now this. I guess thats what you get from the national carrier of a banana republic.

I am having the same problem.
cant open absa.co.za and desperately need to do some banking.

Thank **** my contract expires August 5th and i can leave this sorry excuse of a service provider.
Was debating to continue but this has put the nail in the coffin. Useless.

i am going to cancel my 8ta contract today... i have 5 months left but with all these reoccuring issues they are not abiding with the contract that they will provide a stable service ...... I really dont give a **** about there cancelation fee. I will go to the bank stop there debit order and cancel the contract at telkom shop.

This is just really bad service and no person can be expected to have to sit with this constant fck up on their behalf... With no apologies or explanation... 8ta. gfy( go f&#* yourself)

Same here. the list of sites not working are just getting longer. Contacted Elitehost thinking that it was on their side because my site was not working. But they ran a number of tests and its on 8ta's side. This is not the first time iv experienced this and its becoming increasingly frustrating...

Obviously Telkom's DNS servers are not working properly.

Bad thing is that I can't even change my default DNS servers to Google's DNS servers in my Huawei B683 settings.

I'm screwed. :(

Doesn't look like a DNS problem.
Even using Google's servers does not help.
It's probably some network routing configuration mess up.

I've emailed them and submitted a fault report on their web page.
No way am I going to try and explain this to a call centre agent! :erm:

Thank you for the enquiry. I apologize for all the inconvenience , we are currently experiencing some internet connection problems and our technical department is working on it .

I tried https://chat.8ta.com/ but it wouldn't load :whistling:

My 8ta chat actually loaded and I got them to phone me. Made a case and got a number. The data tehc told me that they have been receiving calls from all over South Africa complaining about this issue and that it has been reported. They have no detail on the issue yet but do acknowledge that the problem Telkom related.

Lets see if they can fix this before I die from age,...

Having this same issue, can't access www.microsoft.com, cnn.com etc

Just as Telkom's after 6PM issue seemed to be getting better this happens.

At least these sites can be accessed using the TOR browser bundle as a workaround for now.
