In other news, I was too busy to get my car licence renewed, and it is now two months late. So I went today and they forced me to pay penalty fees!! The thing is life and work just got so busy that I really wasn't able to do it. Is this fair?

Mine was over a year late the once. Unemployment sure can **** with your plans.

Do it online next year.

Register now on E-services and they'll actually let you know before it's about to expire.

And here I am, trying to convince my service centre that I need a timing belt replacement done at half the recommended kilometers, but at the 5yr interval according to the manual. Apparently it's not needed, but I don't like the idea of an old timing belt in an interference engine. Or am I paranoid?

If they inspected it and it still looks good there's no need to worry.

Just have then check it at every service as they should.

1000km is a hell of a long way not to find time for the second most expensive thing in mostly every household.

I've done between 2500 and 3000km in the last week. It's higher than my average week, but not exceptional.
