ChatGPT launching search to challenge Google

OpenAI is adding a new set of search features to its flagship product ChatGPT, escalating the artificial intelligence startup’s challenge to Google.

The option, called ChatGPT Search, will let the chatbot’s users search for timely information much as they would on the web and get responses with in-line attribution to news publishers and other data sources, OpenAI said Thursday.

Both ChatGPT and Google excel in different areas, but they cater to slightly different needs. I feel more confident in the ChatGPT answers because they are so concise and without advertisers backing them. The results feel as though the results are just for me. I've been using Perplexity for a while, and now with SearchGPT, I can pretty much all but drop the piece of turd, that Google Search has become.
