ChatGPT

I would imagine Siri is about to use this. I really hope that Apple's strategy perhaps is an on-device implementation at least in the future.

This may also explain the timing of the iPad Pro m4 if they managed to license this for on device use. The education application alone would be a game changer.

Looks like those take home programming exercises for interviews are about to get a whole lot easier, not that it wasn't already simplified a fair amount when llm oriented coding was first introduced. Those in-meeting white board coding/discussions going to be more prevalent than ever.

GPT-4o released with improved text, audio and vision capabilities

GPT-4o (“o” for “omni”) is OpenAI’s latest multimodal large language model (LLM) and it brings major advancements in text, voice, and image content generation to offer more natural interaction between users and the assistant.

OpenAI claims its new AI model can respond to audio inputs in as little as 232 milliseconds and it is significantly faster in text response in non-English prompts with support for over 50 languages. You can also interrupt the model with new questions or clarifications while it is talking.

3 months later, it would appear they are now sentient - and deciding what is good for them!

These would need expansion:

Isaac Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics"

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

If they have free will, laws can be broken.

Juts be wary of Chat gpt, and Google. Programmers bias may be unintended, but it does show up.

Maybe, but imho probably corporate usage / historical perspective. I'd also imagine at some stage you'll be able to reference past chats selectively or globally as the basis for responses. With Microsoft going mental with this stuff they probably have the benefit of hindsight with browsing etc but it'll give the employee a feeling of "privacy".
