Cheap (under R500) bluetooth speaker for the office for music. Any suggestions?

Found this so far.

I had a Volcano speaker for a few years. Was very happy with the battery life and sound quality, until I left it outside one evening after a braai and someone else decided they wanted it more than I did.

I am very happy with this one (for the price of course)

Forgot to mention, my wife had that Volcano one and it was rubbish. Also died on day 366.

Battery life becomes an issue in a office. They normally last 3 to 5 hours. so you need to keep them charging. We ended up replacing ours at the office with a normal radio.

They can't stay plugged in / mains powered?

I've just tried with the Blaupunkt and it plays while charging. No idea what this would do to the battery long-term. I'll report back if it loses charge while playing and charging, or charges. I presume the former. Cheap enough to try.

Yup, charge is going up.

Huawei speakers seem to be going for around R299 these days. They play quite nice.

Check this out on takealot: Microlab M106BT 2.1 Subwoofer Speaker with Bluetooth (10W RMS)

I'd rather go for a portable one if I was the OP. Easy to take home.
