Hey guys,

looking for a cheapish reliable printer that can print on CD/DVD's

Any recommendations?

Canon Pixma ip4600 does CD's, uses single inks.
It's essentially a photo printer - but it's not cheap. Expect to pay around R1100.

I got an Epson Stylus Photo R200 that i havn't used in aaaaages. It's basically sitting in my office collecting dust. You're welcome to make me an offer ;)

we've got a Canon Pixma ip5200, works very well, printing directly onto the cd
good quality, prints almost entire cd, small nonprint opening in centre of cd.
single inks is also a good thing in terms of cartridge replacement costs.
its about 2years old already, so not new anymore, I guess there are newer models now.
I prefer Canon to HP, too many failures on HP (new models not as reliable as the oldies), our Canons have been giving us good service

The canons are certainly legendary when it comes to CD printing

I have a Canon ip 4200, it do cd /dvd printing too. Does a great job, but expect to pay freaking high ink costs. for a set I paid over R600 end last year. I'm not going to replace it again, so if it's empty, the printer is out. I cant keep up with that kinda costs.

Generics is the way to go cost like R40 per cartridge on the ip 4200,ip4500 so no complains here canon all the way.Try looking for the older ones like 4200,4500,the 4600 cartridges run out quicker.

You can check with XLNT Idea Xi440 CD/DVD Printer. You can have best price in this store disc2disc.com. It is designed for users requiring faster print performance.
