I am a edgars clubmember,
I recently noticed a isp offering at the botom of my bill and had to call to confirm it.
28 buks for a gig
80 summing buks for 2 gig

does anybody else know of a similarly priced offerings?
I thought this was Dur-cheap

I bought a 1gig account(to test) and will let anybody know if its wortwhile
always good having a extra gig of INTL cap hanging around

you pay post-usage per month via debit order.....

there was also a account activation fee of R30.

tbh, it doesnt say.

The username contains flexidsl. Which I have never heard of.
However the callcentre I phoned to sounded exactly like datapro's callcentre which next to IS is one of the bigger isp's in SA.

Problem is that whatever the username contains cant always be any indication as bigger ISP's like datapro uses a number of username extensions.

So I am gonna start using the account pretty soon. Guess the best would be to just check it out and let you know if I run into any trouble

@Beetman, the callcentre was efficient, however I still need to use the account to make a further assesment, will let you know

R28 = 1 GB, R89 = 2 GB, 3 GB = R149. If I were you, I'd ask for 3 x 1 GB accounts and only pay R84...

This is the first time I see an ISP that does not offer cheaper data per unit the bigger cap you select. So, they're looking to get lots of customers, but don't encourage bandwith usage. Hmm, could they be planning a price hike after hooking some suckers...

There was a discussion on the same thing a few weeks back here:

ADSL at R28.00 per gig for first 6 months

I personally think the 1GB is so much cheaper because they are expecting a lot of people on that account to use much less than the full gig (the people only checking e-mail, old folks who don't use much youtube and facebook, etc).

If someone is willing to pay more for more usage, they are more likely to use every last bit of what they paid for.

Well, that's my theory at least :D

EDIT: WebAfrica has a similar thing, where getting 2 10 GB accounts is cheaper than getting 1 20 GB "High cap" account. Check out the explanation here

I tried the account out last night and I can honestly say I dont have any complaints.

there was a problem at first with authentication on the account, after which I phoned them up, they answered the phone in less than a minute and sorted me kweek steeks
