Cheap LCD tv's ????

Those Samsung's display is crap. Rather get a Panasonic (They are more expensive though). The Proline LCD tv's is not that bad, display is better than the Samsung.

The Panasonic LCD is not as good as the Samsung... And the Proline....
 
I got the Mecer 37" LCD and it has a clearer picture than a LG it cost me only R7999 @the agent. It's HD ready and has 1 HDMI input and all the other inputs you can think of inclucing DVI. Not bad for under 8K.

I was interested in the Samsung LCD, went to a store to get it and the Panasonic and LG, Sony models were there as well. Compared the picture and the Panasonic looks much better

compared using what signal? On an HD signal the Sonys and the Samsungs kill the opposition with LCD. On larger screens Pana plasmas are excellent, but their LCDs are average.

edit: IMHO of course :)

I'm not sure about the signal but if it looks good on normal tv then it will look good when using HD

At 32" it isn't really that important. Unless you're going to a screen bigger than 40", there is no real advantage to Full HD (unless "true" HD means something else). Higher resolution than 1280x720 on a 32" is only really useful if you're using it as a desktop monitor.

Full HD : 1920x1080 @ 60fps... as far as I know...

Apparently once you've actually seen something in full HD... you'll know what the big deal is about... I haven't seen it yet :(

Full HD is cool, but the screen has to be big enough so that the pixel size becomes important. At the viewing distance that you watch TV, you won't be able to discern the difference in the resolution on a 32" set. If you check it out, the only screens with full HD resolution at smaller than 40" are generally monitors for desktop use.

The big ones are WAY to expensive though... I think it was Sony 50" LCD or Plasma... selling for R95,000.00 I'm not paying that for a TV
