Cheaper Kindle featuring on-screen ads

They should focus on getting the publishers back in line. Electronic books should be cheaper than print media, end of story.

Books you buy get an extra $2 added to their price for the Whispernet delivery. Use a different browser without being logged into Amazon and change the regions and compare the prices. US, UK, Canada and Aus will show prices that are $2 cheaper.

And this is based on your region so you'll get charged the $2 even if you just have a Widow version, use a Kindle app on your PC or other device.

Last thing I need in my life is more ads. So would you still get the ads even if you're not connected to the 'net?

Whats that? I have a 3g kindle and I've never paid anything extra on it...

They silently dropped that charge last year August. I looked into it after a 3G Kindle owner confirmed he has never been charged the premium price.

Not for Africa they didn't. If you go to the free books section the free books all cost $2!
