Cheapest broadband services get more expensive

Dear writer, my 2 year old kid even knows this so why give us old news, do you have nothing else to write about???????

There's also the slight matter of the R300 or so that you have to pay your ISP for the actual service as well, where in the other countries it's one amount instead of 3, but don't let that stop you...
 
Pretty useless article, they mention purchase price parity, but then do a direct conversion between dollars and rands.

Let us also not forget how much is costs to get the DSL connection running.

I paid Telkom R300 to install my line, fair enough, the guy had to do some work to get a telephone working. But then I had to pay Telkom a further R600 for the installer to make a phone call to have my DSL connected. :confused: go figure.
 
We are sick and tired and our eyes are bleeding already from reading reports about how much Telkom is ripping us off.

It is time to take action.

The Do1 package used in the article includes ISP costs.

I agree we all know we get ripped in Sa, BUT what should not happen is that we get complacent and just accept that it's so expensive. In a sense its good to keep on pointing out the obvious sometimes :)
 
So Zuma, where's our cheaper communications as you promised?

Are you rude and abrasive purely because you're anonymous? Or are you like this to the people around you too?

Read the article. IT has to do with global trends rather than the local broadband market.
