Im looking for the best per TB pricing for cheap online backup storage.

Cheapest I have so far is $40 per TB.

The only requirements I need is the storage server/vps/whatever must be able to run cronjobs. I need to be able to SSH into it and it must be able to handle 1 to 2 TB of storage (at least).

Thats R400 p/TB. Are you local at Local or INT?

The provider I buy from is INT. Technically multi-continental but not in SA.

Btw, I am not offering the service, Im looking for people who offer it to see if they can beat the price. Theyre for backups so theyre just dedi or vps serves that need to host encrypted files. Also because theyre backups latency is not important. So the host can be anywhere in the world.

I realize you just want the hosting. I'll keep an eye out and drop you a line if I see anything.

The NSA breaks in RSA or AES... So I would think its safe to assume SSH is on the list of services they have compromised...

Cool assuming they have compromised SSH (which I doubt), then there is an encrypted file they can have a go at :D

Considering you have multiple files uploaded all sharing the same encryption. It wont be so hard to decrypt the encryption algorithm. After all, its just gonna be (DATA + KEY) in some places multiple instances of (KEY)... Always assume the worst xD

Ah ghoti I am just saying... be cares...

Is that $40 per month? How are you going to find someone who give you shell access for $40 one-off?

If it's a per month thing, I can probably help set you up with something. ~$30/TB per month for 3-4TB+

Yeah its per month. Okay, Ill PM you, perhaps we can work out something :D

I can get a 4TB dedi server for $100 a month but the drives have no redundancy and I cant host multiple clients on one server (limitation of the backup software I use). Each storage pool has to be on its own machine. :D

I want to see too :(

I am curios to know what tech people are using, I then generally am happy to pass my flawed opinion if anyone is interested.

In short; I think I've found the most cost effective way to put lots of storage up in the cloud. Happy to share over PM, but for personal reasons, I don't want to share my configuration out in the open.
