Huawei phone discussion continued ..
@Fox1 - I swopped the previous phone for a new one, and it does the same (@ 90% battery light indicator goes green, as well), so must be a standard thing across their devices.
After testing as much as I can think of on this new one, finding that for data usage to indicate (anything), I have to restart the phone & then when I do, the graphics display but most recent date of usage is only up to the 6th Feb., but I've used Wi-Fi this morning & it won't let me select a later date range. Not too serious as I don't rely on it for checking data used, but is a bit of an irritant, especially as a new phone. Could download an app if I wanted to, I'm sure.
In J/Bean (and up?), are you aware you can drag an icon into another one, which creates a folder into which you can move as many icons from the various screens, as you like?
I've now created 2 folders this way with similar, largely unused icons, so have freed-up so much space that was then able to delete 2 entire screens, so now only have 4 screens in use. I really like the Huawei home & other screen setup now, especially with that cylindrical transitions effect.
I'm using a Samsung 8GB card that came with my old Desire S, so hopefully it'll continue to be reliable. Apps/App list backed up to AppBrain so not too concerned if I lose use of the card.
All things considered, the Y300 isn't a bad phone but don't think I'll ever again buy a phone with only 512MB RAM, as it struggles in that department. However, think I'd of needed to spend up to R1k more for a phone with 1GB, so will live with it.

I also installed Apex Nova on the P6 as I found the stock launcher too cramped.
