I know @Fulcrum29 does this

I think it is fine; as long as you enjoy yourself why not. I mean looking at NMS I've already clocked almost 500 hours now with the first few play throughs on normal and perma death. I'm currently doing another round and have from the start just unlocked all inventory spaces because if I can run 100x times to fetch said ore then I can now run 1x time. I guess that would also be called 4x resource gain in something like conan exiles.

Bottom of the barrel individuals cheat... No matter what kind of cheating it is, if you cheat, you're a clit
Here's something just for you

Cheating is an enhanced user experience, and yes, it won’t improve your progression. The moment cheating impacts another user’s experience, positively or negatively, it breaks the rules in which everyone competes in and that is unacceptable and is as good as a plague. The community needs to accept the rules in which they compete in, which is also applicable to experience customisation like using mods.

The last time I cheated in a single player game was when I did world-building in Starbound which was later made public without cheats.

I mostly only cheat in sim/building type games. I mean where's the fun in running out of money or recources?

or being restricted with how and what you can build where. Why I run Beyond Base Building for nms. I don't mind fetching the mats or setting up mining and processing loops but just let me build it...

If your cheating affects other players, sure.. if you are cheating in a single player game where it affects no one but yourself, there is no issue with that..

Just keep your cheating to yourself, affecting no one but yourself..

I love my cheathappens.com lifetime subscription.

Since I have less time to play, I rather play on my terms.

Never cheated in multiplayer thou. I still rock COD-MW and WoW on occasion.

Yeah cheating in single player (and local co-op) games has been around since the dawn of gaming, when cheat codes were still a thing. No issues with it as long as you're enjoying yourself.

Cheating in anything else is BS...

Can vaguely remember using trainers in DOS games that would add lives or ammo (to certain games only?).

That's not cheating, just editing the experience to suit your tastes. In for example the new XCOM's I like to load a few mods, one being larger squad sizes (+2 from the start), but then I balance it by ramping the difficulty to max.

Is it cheating if you go so far into debt that in Railroad Tycoon that it becomes a positive balance due to some game flaw?

Yes, exploits are a cheat.

Edit:

Come to think about it, in case you consider it as a state bailout, it is probably above board.

No issue with cheating in single player game. If it gives you more enjoyment out of the game why not.

Not in multi-player games thought as that can impact other players

dont really care if someone cheats in a single player game, but when its to make something easier - like a fromsoft game... then that's just their loss cause they don't want to get better

maybe they don’t care about this at all, and really just want to have a decent time and enjoy the mechanics and story?

There is a certain satisfaction gained when the super difficult ai wololo half your base and you bring out a bigdaddy to nuke everything in sight, until it gets wololo and you need to bring another bigdaddy to have a rocket launcher showdown.

I use Fling trainers. I have neither the time nor patience to walk or ride a horse between two places for long periods so I enable superspeed on trainers. I'm not a big fan of crafting either, I used to run around ad nausea crafting schit at the beginning of a game just to get better weapons. I'm not a hardcore gamer, I just play for relaxation, it harms nobody in sp games.

In online mp games I hate cheating, I only really play csgo and you notice cheating quite quickly.

I don't cheat in single player games, but I don't have a problem with it.
If there's a game where the story is good, but you can't be bothered with the gameplay, then cheating is a means to experience it how you want. Or if there's some rule that really annoys you.

Most of the time though, you just cheat yourself out of a good game.

This actually looks like a really cool game. I've wishlisted it. Thanks :)
