Checkers launches new rewards programme

Retailer Checkers has launched a new rewards programme, called Xtra Savings.

While most rewards schemes are based on earning points and earning loyalty rewards, or being placed into different tiers based on spending habits, Xtra Savings opts for delivering “instant cash savings” on items purchased, Checkers said.

They will offer discounts based on your normal spend.
Buy a lot of a certain item and you will start getting a discounted price on it

They kinda are. Checkers is far cheaper than PnP/Woolworths already. I must be one of the few who kinda like rewards programs.

I signed up for the card yesterday. The app looks rather poor. Will be worthwhile if they discount things I regularly buy. I do my grocery shopping there anyways because eBucks.

You were correct. Spar invented the loyalty card and no other retailer uses it. Anyone else who tries to implement it is a thief.

I also don't carry my PnP one anymore. I scan the card machine with the app when I get to PnP once in a blue moon. I jumped on their WhatsApp thing. Some things are well priced, like cheese, washing powder, nappies, some meats and fish, etc. are well priced on the card only. Other things like All Gold Tomato Sauce is still cheaper at Makro. Checkers got a Weber for damn cheap on the card though.

Get the app called "Stocard" saves me from carrying a bunch of cards around I dont use often.
