Checkers launches new rewards programme

I take it you only pay with cash as well?
No, but plan on doing so in future. I sent in a request to cancel and they sent me a government gazette form from 14 December 2018 which I had to fill out to remove my personal information. A lot may be just standard legalese but the terms and conditions had me ceding and consenting to stuff I really disagree with.

I am also sure that the program could be found to be not entirely legal with the discriminatory pricing. I paid R99 for the item under the rewards program, and if an under 18 year old child walked in (s)he would have been charged R129 as (s)he would not be able to partake in the program. A lot of the specials are available to card holders only and at a steep discount. I am sure the same applies to PicknPay and other stores as well. Perhaps it is legal. I have been trying to read up on price discrimination laws in South Africa and so far came up with mostly b2b and not b2c.

I know the discounts are a fair trade for them profiling my purchasing habits, and for their marketing but I cannot consent to their terms (that I found later on the website).
