Cheques when last did you use them ?

We have cheque cards these days. No need for the book.

Has to be ten years since I wrote a cheque. Had to get a casher's cheque to pay a traffic fine recently though.

persona cheques i've not seen in ages.. corporate vendor cheques / bill pay i still see mostly via medical aids.. i'm thinking some just haven't upgraded their system to use ETF settlement and makes it easier to pay medical provider stuff without knowing each and every one of theirs account details.. tho i reckon just old system

Never.

When I opened my cheque account 10 or so years ago they asked if I wanted a cheque book and I just laughed.

That would be 10 years ago...

Most merchants no longer accept them anyway. Due to fraud they were made highly unpopular and many places were reluctant to accept them.

I received a cheque once a few years ago. can't remember for what and that was the only time.

Have had a cheque book since 1982. I now write one every year or so. When I have to post the payment to someone or organisation that has no other method. Wrote one to SACE (South African Council of Educators) last month, it was a cheque or postal order.
Anyone tried getting a postal order recently?.
Not sure if I will be able to get another one when this one is finished.

I remember we had to learn how to write cheques in primary school,
When I finished high school and started working, cheques weren't being used anymore... :(

I've never written one. EFTs are much better for large transactions, and for small transactions, we can swipe our cards.

Also, NMMU's school of accounting is considering dropping bank reconciliation, as now even undeclared transactions show up on statements.

Never used cheques, but I have cashed them.

My gran still insists on using cheques to pay her credit card when I told her you can do a transfer via internet banking.

I paid a plumber with one last year. The cheque before that was in 2003 (rent).

My bond is at a different bank than the bank I'm with so if I need to get money from my access bond, they give me a cheque which I then have to take to my bank and wait 7 days.

But last time I needed to do that was probably 5 years or so ago.

Never. Cash one from my grandma like 15 years ago though.

Got asked to pay rent via cheque earlier this year though. Haha...not a chance.
