goodness, never thought I'd see a thread on chess. Loved it, it doesn't love me. Played battlechess years ago. And then a couple of years ago the newer version. Made level 6, played 30, lost 24 times LOL. And it cost me a laptop. Smashed the table next to me when getting frustrated with losing...laptop went off and died. :cry:

in open and invitational events yes

generally women can compete in men's events but men can't compete in women events

its a game, its been discussed many times by Jan and Svidler

my standard rating (minimum 15 minute time control per side) is 2041 at the moment on freechess.org

anyone up for a game?

this one is a bullet game (one minute a side) where I crush an opponent significantly higher rated than me by sacrificing a few pieces and pawns, the end position is hilarious.

I played seriously in school but largely stopped playing after moving to JHB. Went to SA schools champs 3 times for SE transvaal. Started teaching my kids now and a friend at work and I must say I have been getting more into it again of late. The issue is I am very rusty! The stupid mistakes I make after not playing for so long!

I see if you hover over it is actually Egypt's flag. I guess the "SA" part of the name threw me off. Regardless, Google has better pics...
