China - Taiwan Developments

I believe that most people here are content with the status quo, and not many are cheering for independence.
I sure hope so, I get an entirely different vibe here though

I almost get the feeling you are cheering for another war.
I'm cheering for the end to all modern wars and a peace that outlasts us for generations to come ... that can only happen if the root cause is addressed (USA imperialism) instead of the symptoms (ISIS, Taiwan, Ukraine, "WMDs" etc)

focusing on the symptoms and ignoring the root cause will only lead to more war, if not Taiwan then somewhere else, guaranteed

Do you look like winnie the pooh?
fwiw I'm not that fond of honey and the only name from the show I've ever been called is Eeyore, was a hot female giving me that nickname though so there was no protesting from me

... are you by any chance a hot female? I might accept Winnie the Pooh as well if that is the case

If you believes that Russia and China will abandon their expansionist goals solely because the US ignores them, they may be you are operating under a dangerous level of naivety.

neither country has any expansionist goals, that's that horseshyte fed to you by ... the USA ... the same USA that wants endless war all over the world

the dangerous levels of naivety and complicity are all on your side I'm afraid

It's quite amusing to hear someone suggest that Russia and China have no imperialistic tendencies, given recent events. For example, Russia's invasion of a sovereign country is a clear example of its expansionist behavior. Likewise, China's ongoing territorial disputes in the South China Sea with neighboring countries, such as Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia, and its militarization of artificial islands, have led to tensions in the region.

recent events caused by USA

you seem entirely incapable of imagining, realistically, what the situation might have been like without US meddling

if the root cause of something is X, but the symptoms include Y, you can't use Y as your litmus test
you need to predict what Y would have been without X

if you honestly believe it would have been the exact same then fine
I honestly believe it would have been very different

It's always the USAs fault isn't it?

Ah, back to the go-to default whataboutism when there is no argument - Iraq.
I used to be irrirated, now I just laugh at the idiocy when I read 'whataboutasim'

Yeah we should not use past behaviour as an indicator.
Someone should tell the justice/legal system that. Forget a felon's past history. Judge him on his suit and tie in court only.

lack of critical thinking on your part does not constitute a wild imagination on my part

maybe you have been watching too much CNN/BBC/take-your-propaganda-pick
Ukraine has experienced an invasion by Russian forces, while China has been constructing military installations on artificial islands in disputed waters. These are events that have been widely reported in the media and confirmed by multiple sources.
