China - Taiwan Developments

I remember when that Chinese sub popped up to say hello in the middle of a US carrier group battle exercise.

So did a South African sub just after the Soviet Minsk carrier task force passed over it and it had recorded all their vessel signatures in the early 1980's. Absolute consternation and all targeting radars were aimed at the sub. Recorded for later analysis and all signatures sent to the NATO. There were no sanctions on military information exchange.

not missing, it just doesn't make any material difference, here's a list of organisations that officially (whatever else they may believe privately) state Taiwan is part of China and most definitely not independent:
- the UN
- the EU
- USA
- China
- Taiwan itself even

the status quo might have been born from civil war, but it doesn't change the only two options on the table:
- accept China as the winner
- goad China into making its victory clear and unambiguous using its military might

You forgot the Taiwanese option - China becomes part of Taiwan and democratic.

So? Legitimacy has to do with effective popular acceptance... not direct approval.

There exists no effective movement against the CCP they have been in control of the Mainland for almost a century, Taiwan want's to be the legitimate government of both sides but it will never be.

There are only two possible alterations to the status quo, the Mainland fractures into civil war or annexes Taiwan. Anything else is a fantasy.

Your logic is like saying that if the Tzars' family survived they could today retake the Russian Empire because they were the legitimate rulers popularly supported by half the Empire. Even today their decedents if they exist are in hiding. The imperial age is over, this includes China.

And the Democratic Socialist age is currently coming to a close, we are entering a Technocratic dark age.
This is why people disappear in China.

Either way this does nothing to affect legitimacy.... only desirability to "democratic" people.

Concentration camps are a sign of a legitimate government?

At about the same time, the Chinese state-security apparatus was developing a "Integrated Joint Operations Platform" (IJOP) to analyze information which was collected from its surveillance data. According to an analysis of this software by Human Rights Watch, a member of a minority group might be assessed by the IJOP as falling under one of 36 "person types" that could lead to arrest and internment in a re-education camp. Some of these person types included:

  • people who do not use a mobile phone,
  • who use the back door instead of the front,
  • who consume an "unusual" amount of electricity,
  • have an "abnormal" beard,
  • socialize too little,
  • maintain "complex" relationships,
  • have a family member that exhibits some of these traits and so is "insufficiently loyal"

Ask the people of China, they love their country and government. Compared to SA China is paradise. This is fact, if I could speak Mandarin I would love to live in China instead of SA.

It might have a 1 party state but that state is pretty damn awesome so maybe outsiders should stop imagining the things that are wrong. China is great.

They disappear if they say anything else. What do you expect them to say?

Stop imaging things that are wrong with China. I hate the communist and socialist more than anyone, but China is not really a communist state, and is on another level superior to SA in ALL aspects.

China is subject to government censorship and regulation, which can limit the diversity of perspectives that are publicly expressed.

Would you be able to access the MyBB forum if you were in China to tell us how great China is?

Who gives a fvck about some freedom stat online, it will probably show how "free" SA is while people have to lock themselves away in their homes from criminals. The Chinese state is respected by the people of China. The SA state is only respected by brain dead muppets and criminals.

Ever heard of the social credits system in China? Did you just jump in to dump post to praise China and miss this post of mine:

I am not praising China, I am just saying that saffers can`t judge China because SA is infinitely more of a sh1th0le. China is not some communist sh1th0le, they are achieving great things. Getting a state like China`s will be a massive improvement for SA.
