Chinese Tablet Buyers Guide.

Seems comparable to the Alldocube iPlay 30 pro which has a slightly bigger screen and cheaper landing cost when purchasing through Banggood?
There isn't much difference between the two, either one really .4 inch screen vs 500mah extra battery......lol
The antutu score is 20k lower then what you should be getting for the p60 chipset, it should be 175K+-.

It might indicate throttling kicking in due to weaker cooling, no score on the m30pro as yet, once that is out you could get a better picture of which is better speed wise. 20k score difference is quite a hit. My bet would be the teclast having the better cooling solution.

Yah definitely think the p60 processor is a bit dated if you want to do a bit more with your tablet like gaming. For R400 more I would rather get the Teclast M40 or Alldocube iPlay 40 which is being released soon with the T618 processor. Just hoping normal shipping to SA resumes.

Shipping is going to take awhile before being fine.Yeah the M40 might be better, but not being able to get the P20HD as everyone is pretty much out of stock or not shipping here. The m30pro really hits the sweet spot as a replacement for the P20HD so it is 500 odd more instead of R900 odd for the m40.

M40 is better value, but if you have a budget then there isn't much in it at 20%- 30% speed difference.

The thing however is the T30pro is coming out soon as well, will have to wait and see the final specs on that when listed.M30pro is definitely an improvement over the old m30, at 2.5K on bangood versus the 3k on gearbest makes the banggood deal actually pretty good.

previous quote from gearbest not showing...
Dates dont seem to mean anything, always moving a week or 2 forward. The latest 29-31 dec disptach date has been missed. They now say 1-2 weeks, but I doubt anything will change. They keep saying they are out oif stock but keep having flash sales for this tab. Will be looking for an alternative for the p20hd before cancelling on the 12th (2 months after the order was placed).

I ended up cancelling on Sat and they issued a refund straight away. I lost over R300 because of the Rox difference in the end.

Anyway, I get the impression they have no intention of shipping these. If I see how quick they refunded I get the impression I was doing them a favour by cancelling.

This is what I suspect as well. I think in addition to having stock issues, they also have an issue with shipping to SA from HK.

I think we're in for a rough few months with regards to importing - I watched a YouTube video recently that quoted DHL, FedEx etc as saying they are really stretched for capacity as a result of the massive volumes of COVID vaccine's filling cargo planes and the lack of passenger plane flights meaning they don't have the cargo holds which they used to send smaller cargo around the world.

Bottom line, Vaccines are taking up all the available cargo space and are listed as the highest priority and will block any other goods from being loaded - I saw Chris from TechTablets (also YouTube) tweet that DHL informed him they won't even ship HK stuff to him in Spain because of a lack of flight space - his Xiaomi Mi 11 is delayed indefinitely.

Did you cancel with gearbest directly? Did you pay via paypal?

Just trying to figure out whats the easiest way to cancel, direct or via paypal.

Hi, I cancelled with Gearbest using their chat app. The paypal refund was done the next day and money in my account a few days after that.

I don't need a new tablet. My Teclast is a handy little thing. My problem is I want a new tablet...

I don't know how long I can resist the urge.

Which teclast do you have?

And what are you thinking of getting?

WAIT rather HODL lol

Teclast should release a new M series and T series around September-October ( It is how their release cycle worked in previous years)We should be getting some thing with android 11 as well and shipping will have resumed as normal hopefully.

But if you can't wait and you can manage to get some thing shipped the M40 is your best bet.

That's good to hear. For a new T series I can hold on! Getting the M40 won't be worth my while then.

I've got a T30 with android 9.
Um the M40 beats the T30 by quite a bit, has more ram and space. Mediatek P70 scores 155k and unisoc T618 scores 222K and has android 10.

There is also the yet to be released T30pro, which has the same chipset only difference is it now has 128gig rom and 6gig ram but same chipset with android 10.

M40 makes the T30 and T30pro rather pointless.

The T40 rumours are after a recent show teclast was at, is that the T40 will have the same T618 chipset as the M40, major difference would be the screen which will be a 2k in cell screen, so thinner and likely lighter tablet, they are likely going to nerf the t40 with 64gig rom to offer a later revision with 128gig rom.

With the exception of the in cell screen the M40 is the better bet, as the T40 is going to be more expensive because of the new screen tech.

Is it the T40 that'll be coming out in Sep/Oct?

The space I'm not too worried about. But I can always do with more ram. The idea of a lighter screen is a huge draw for me.

No you don't need ICASA approval or licensing not unless you are planning on using it for commercial purposes or reselling bulk devices. For personal use, you don't need any thing, you buy it just like every thing else on the internet, pay customs, vat ect if due ect. There are however limits, of how many you can import at any given time.
Thank you :)

Banggood not shipping the M30 to South Africa, and no other option given to ship from another location.

Has anyone connected a USB hub to their Teclast and if you have, what hub did you get?

I've a Teclast T30 and I want to be able to read a normal USB flash drive.

Looking for a decent tablet for around 3k. Is it worth waiting for availability of other tablets, or should I go for the Teclast T30 from Banggood? Seems to be the only unit available for shipping to SA.
