Chinese Tablet Buyers Guide.

Looking for a decent tablet for around 3k. Is it worth waiting for availability of other tablets, or should I go for the Teclast T30 from Banggood? Seems to be the only unit available for shipping to SA.
For R3 200 you can get the Alldocube iPlay 40 from Sunsky. Need to factor in shipping and customs though.

Thanks looks pretty solid - seems exactly like the M40 but with more ram. Haven't bought from Sunsky before though, are they reliable? Anything I need to look out for?

I ordered mine, dispatched quite quickly compared to Gearbest, arrived in the country within a week. Been stuck at local Aramex depot for last 2 weeks though...so can't comment on whether it's actually in the box but other users have used Sunsky before without issue.

Did you cancel with gearbest directly? Did you pay via paypal?

Just trying to figure out whats the easiest way to cancel, direct or via paypal.
OK so the gearbest order for the p20hd from November was canceled in early January. They just couldn't deliver, and I see that same item is no longer available for delivery to sa.

On the 10th of January I ordered via amazon at slight premium, but this order never moved past a tracking number being created. That order was eventually cancelled in early March after numerous attempts to get some feedback and get the package to move. Apparently the item was damaged and returned to the supplier. Order eventually canceled from Amazon's side. They did however create a new order on the 8th of March and that one w as finally delivered yesterday.

Overall it was a real headache, all thanks to covid no doubt, but the for the price the specs cant be beat.

Out of interest, is there a specific reason why you guys buy from bangood as opposed to Aliexpress ?
i've bought a few stuff from Alie this year (fed ex and DHL) and all came through in good time, longest delivery was 2 weeks, shortest was within a week with fed ex.

I haven't gone through all 30 pages. I know that with tech items, newer models gets released so often. What will the latest recommendation be for a 10 inch tablet for my kid ? One that will actually be delivered. Any help will be appreciated.

Delivery using the Buffalo tax-free option is miles cheaper than anything else I've tried.

Fedex and DHL pricing on Aliexpress are usually extremely expensive for most products. I was looking at the shipping charge to SA using DHL for a cheap thermometer earlier on Aliexpress and noticed that it was $127 and that probably doesn't cover any additional charges when the item arrives!

No new releases aren't that often, every two years or so see brands like teclast, refreshing their lineup.Every other year is generally a update on chipsets, like higher end chips filtering down to the lower end devices or a refresh of the devices adding more ram, ROM ect.

Considering device specs in generally you would get a decent two years or more out of their devices.Going into my second year with my teclast M20, and extremely happy with it still. With the 4 gig ram and 128 gig ROM, LTE and and chipset able to play pubg, it is still pretty much relevant.

Teclast P20H is perfect at the low end and at the higher end with shipping at 3.5 ish k the Teclast m40 is literally the best bang buck tablet out there you will get for 3.5k.Shipping with covid is an issue and will be for some time to come.

The m40 at 4k +-( with taxes shipping ect) on amazon is more then what you will pay on other sites like gearbest, act. But those sites aren't shipping here currently and even with the higher price about 1k more for the specs is still better then any thing you can get locally for that price point, and amazon ships here.

So yeah go for it, with the price premium Samsung and apple nothing locally matches and I do mean nothing else you can get locally even comes close to the teclast m40 for the that price......

I see that the M40 is available for shipping to SA via Unregistered mail which may indicate via SA Post Office?

Yeah. wouldn't touch that with a barge pole too risky.Small cheap items no problem, but a few grand, no.

Shipping alone is 2 grand.

Yip! Besides the one to SA Post Have we had a clear answer/truthful answer from Banggood or Gearbest why they cannot shop mobiles, tablets, etc to South Africa?
