Chinese Tablet Buyers Guide.

You can generally tell by the size of the bank how many 18650's are in there. Knowing what those cells are capable of will generally tell you that those claims of capacity are an overstatement.
Unfortunately many battery banks use lithium polymer pouch cells these days so you can't use the size to gauge much like you could with 18650 cells.

Update on Teclast T30 tablet: scrolling is still annoying, but this thing is handy and powerful though for me to work on it on the go. It's also handy during Eskom's loadshedding. I'm still in love with the keyboard.

Have any of you successfully linked your tablets to projectors and sound systems for presentations?

Use a Chromecast or any device that supports it to stream media to display/sound devices

Any recommendations on a tablet. I have the Teclast M20 and was looking at the T30 with keyboard.

Any opinions?

My trusted Teclast M20 has two issues
1. The charging port seems to have failed. It does not charge. Have tried to clean etc with no luck.
Have communicated with GB by they are bleh. They have offered some refund - of about 40% of what I paid.
2. The left side (about of the screen - in portrait - is dead (about 3 cm top to bottom).
Thats a PIA.

I know I will either need to take it to a nearby repair spot or do the DIY route and cause more of a ****up.

Any advice?

At 4year 6months my X98 Plus seemed to have given up finally. It was hot to touch at one point on the back, and switched off. I started it again and put it away after 1 hour, when I tried to use it next morning it was dead. No amount of holding the power button is reviving it, and it draws 5V 0.2Amp (charges at 1.5A). Don't really want to replace it, but my older Ramos i9 does not play videos and reddit gifs too well if at all.

I really want a 2.5K+ tablet, as well as large screen. Can't find one at a palatable price, so (on BG) -
Teclast T30 249.0 mm X 135.0 mm X 8.5 mm 16:10 1920x1200 P70 10.1" R3500 Android 9
Teclast M30 240.0 mm X 170.0 mm X 9.5 mm 16:10 2560x1600 X27 10.1" R2500 Android 8
Teclast M16 277.0 mm X 174.0 mm X 8.0 mm 16:9 1920x1200 X27 11.6" R3200 Android 8
Teclast X98 240.0 mm X 175.0 mm X 7.8 mm 4:3 2048x1536 Z8350 10.1" (DEAD )Android 5

Listed are the device dimensions, screen dimensions I am not sure about - the T30 is significantly narrower, but maybe it has smaller bezel ? I think @wizardofid or @Darkjo has the M20 240 x 170 x 10 mm and the T30 to compare, care to comment?

Coming from 2048 x 1536 I really don't want to go FHD, reading PDF files/magazines/comics at a decent DPI is really important to me. There is also the difference of aspect ratio. Any wonky black bars on the top and bottom? Magazines are 4:3 in my experience. I have tried turning my FHD desktop screen to the side, it is palatable but has black bars.

So really M30 seems the best buy for PDF, although it will tax its lowly CPU/GPU the most with the highest resolution. Any comments?

M30 is your best bet then :)

Broke my tablet by forcing a wrong size sim card in there and they fixed it up for free. Definitely a perk of buying local.
I need to take mine in to get the screen sorted. My son's knee kind of crushed it.

Seems to run things fine, perfect for my son, need one for home schooling and my old Sony got sat on.
How's this Dixon working out for you?

Looking around at 10"+ tablets, it's hard to find anything locally that comes close to those stats...

It was fine, had to send it in to get repaired last week, must phone to see as my son put his knee on the screen.

Ah. Did you send if back to Cash Crusaders directly or how did they handle that?
Sent it back to them last week, but will need to check what's happening, time kinda flew this week.

And how would you compare the tablet to the budget Samsungs and Xiaomis of this world? Worth it for just over R2k?

Well it's local so that's a plus, beats the equivalent Lenovo at that price point, not sure it'll beat the telecast and such.
