DStv Streama launch delayed

MultiChoice says the global chip shortage has delayed the launch of its DStv Streama streaming box.

The company announced the device more than a year ago during an unveiling event that also provided the first look at the DStv Explora Ultra decoder.

No, I have very serious doudts about that, after all they want to get you to pay for DSTV, but yeah, with all the fark up's recently - it just might happen

AV1 codec is hardware related and no media box with a S905X/X2/X3 is going to be able to do AV1 . I think the same is true of the S905Y / Y2 / Y3 - they're also not going to be able to stream AV1 content . It'll need to be a 4th generation S905 chip

That rules out pretty much every box on the market right now
