There are many reasons why a person would go to a Chiropractor or Physiotherapist.
Not all of them have to do with superstition or mysticism.
Few years back I had a pinched nerve in my back and was referred to a chiropractor. He was awesome. Had x-rays done of my spine ect. Very professional. Sorted out my pain in 2 sessions. That was about 12 years ago. I have just developed the same issue again and will be going back to him this week (since I see he is still going strong).
and that's the thing, if he fixes it, he is worth the money
And if he doesn't, he still has your money and will be sure to schedule as many visits as he needs.

Erm, it was a joke on the "walk" part of your statement: "If you walk...". You know, able to walk so why visit a disabler?
Should've added a smiley of some sort I suppose.
The chiropractor determined a pinched nerve from xrays?

Looking for the root of the issue. Turns out since my one leg is fractionally sorter than the other my spine is irregular i.e. has grown skew as a result of trying to compensate for the slight limp. Because of this I'm not supposed to do certain exercises in gym. But, alas I have not listened and I'm back in the same boat![]()

Sounds like you were taken for a ride to be honest
I went from literally almost not being able to drive a car due to the most severe leg pain to no pain at all in less than a week after some back manipulation on the tablet. So I will swear by my chiro no matter what you say![]()
See my previous post. He went to the trouble of looking for the source of the issue. When I saw the x-rays of my spine it suddenly explained a lot.
'Course you will.
"One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back." - Carl Sagan
The practice of Chiropractic is based on sound scientific principles. The most recent study, called the BEAM trial, recently published in the British Medical Journal (Nov 19, 2004: 1-8), found that Chiropractic treatment produces superior results in terms of SAFETY, EFFECTIVENESS, COST EFFECTIVENESS and PATIENT SATISFACTION. Through Chiropractic care, patients are shown to take fewer days sick leave, spend less time incapacitated, use less medication for pain relief, have less chance of needing back surgery and have less chance of the problem becoming a chronic condition.
As with any medical intervention Chiropractic does have a set of risks. Fortunately these risks are very rare. Complications from genuine Chiropractic manipulation of the neck are, at worst, 1 in 500000 or 0.0002% this is significantly lower than the risk of serious side effects from ant-inflammatory drugs or even being hit in your home by a crashing plane!
If it was based on "sound scientific principles", then they would have qualified with at least a degree in science...
