I have an Afrihost account and the performance is very good. Video streaming on YouTube is tops, even at high resolutions. :)

Okay awesome. What about streaming on putlocker etc? As I don't generally stream on YouTube.

Afrihost capped works extremely well.Runs great on all protocols.Great pricing too.

I'm guessing you need the Premium uncapped if you want to stream? Or do you have capped?

More than likely you're on standard uncapped and reached the FUP. Upgrade to premium and you'll be ok.
 
Putlocker is not the only site I use. Each one is so slow to stream. The funny part is that while mweb was testing my account one of the technicians graciously gave me his account to use and it worked perfectly well. Yesterday I found out that it was a Web Africa account. So it's definitely mweb who's the problem.

Most ISPs have a Fair Usage Policy on their uncapped accounts whereby you are permitted to download x GBs of data before being throttled.

Telkom Internet is an example of a calendar month FUP whereby you start with a clean slate on the 1st of every month.

MWeb uses a rolling 30 day FUP whereby throttling is always snapping at your heels once you have exceeded your GBs and the only way to start with a clean slate is to download nothing for 30 days.

Mweb hates torrents, phone Mweb get what your usage is then get a capped account that covers your usage. Uncapped accounts are shaped in some way and generally target P2P which is the same group as putlocker.

-Afrihost is the cheapest because of the double your data thing and haven't seen anything funny about their streaming on these forums.
-I know that Axxess does not shape watchfree, putlocker, torba as I stream from these sources every day on the 300gig capped account.
-At work I have Vox and often stream from these sites when working late without any issues.

Can't comment on putlocker but in my experience you can stream HD all the time on both CrystalWeb and Afrihost/Axxess. Both capped and premium uncapped accounts.
 
Okay great, thanks everyone. Mweb is probably going to charge me penalty fees and all sorts of nonsense. So unfair, I only had decent service for 2 weeks of the 6 weeks I've been with them.
 
On afrihost 150GB Capped, putlocker works fine for me without buffering on a 10Mbps.
If you are going over the ~150GB Capped mark, it's best to use Afrihost Plus+ for R99 and choose to double your data, makes the 200GB+ range a lot cheaper.
 
I'm on the mweb 4mb uncapped premium and putlocker seems to go full speed most of the time for me. However there have been certain episodes of series or movies that just run slow. Not sure if its related to mweb or if its just a bad source. The only real issues i'v had with this account is that it is shaped to about half speed or less during peak times aka 7pm-10pm and youtube sometimes runs very slow using chrome.
