Chris Nolan's - The Odyssey.

At least those are all solid actors and expect nothing but the best from Matt Damon.

Did you watch the new trailer? Hearing him yell "Let's Go!" at 1:30 into the new trailer with the most American accent, uhhh.

First trailer was so great until he started speaking. Americanizing the heck out of Greek legend is so disjarring, starts to feel like an SNL skit complete with some really bad casting choices.

I don't watch trailers. The first time I want to see a movie is when I watch the full one.

Is all of that actually confirmed or just rumours? Because another rumour I've seen is that Page plays someone called Elpanor...

The opinion leaders have long been sharpening their blades in an attempt to slay this new adaptation. Their cohorts are at the ready. I am not going to predetermine my expecatations here. I think it will be a good, perhaps a strong epic.

Hollywood is Hollywood, and it is no secret that this adaptation is inspired by Emily Wilson's adaptation. Sure Nolan is going to take his own creative liberties. There will be deviations nonetheless.

For those who would like this to be an original, sure let's do an epic poem on stage.

There is one thing that I do disagree with, and I hope that it isn't true... Alledgedly there will be trap in this, and everyone here should know what I think about that music 🤢

Achilles and Helena don't play major roles in the Odyssey though? This isn't the Iliad, this is after the war Achilles is dead and Helena has gone back home. So if they do show up, it will be as a ghost and a short bit for Helena.
edit: Played too much Abe's so spelled it Oddysee ;-)

Matt Damon is the worst thing about this imo. Cool actor, but he just doesn't fit a movie set in this era. It's hard not to see Jason Bourne etc.

Damon is now close to 60 IIRC, about the right age to portray Odysseus. To be honest, the traits required may well be presented by the previous characters that he played. Jason Bourne was cunning. Odysseus the Cunning.
