Chris Nolan's - The Odyssey.

People bitching about miscasting before the roles in question have been confirmed.... :X3:
Yep...these controversial roles have not been finalized, but is definitional used to create press buzz.

These are supporting roles anyway...not really prevalent or relevant tbh.

But if they are cast in these roles, it would be rather stupid tbh.

I never discount Chris Nolan projects till I watch one of his films with my own 2 eyes & then ponder about it afterwards.

Given how big this movie title is expected to be, many are riding the impressions game. There is a good buck to be earned by showing dissidence towards this production. I do agree with you, though not Nolan per se, but I think that given that it is an epic that it deserves a watch to have a constructive opinion.

When last did we have an epic?

Troy

I've watched Gladiator a few times over the years but find it a bit so-so. Too boring for my liking.

Edit: today I learned Roger Ebert gave Gladiator 2 stars. And here I thought everyone gave it high praise.

IMO it has a few very good scenes as well as a stellar cast but really struggle to watch it more than once as its such a slog.
Which one, troy?

Reported!

Probably my favourite ancient epic. Can't think of others now.
As I said, it has some great moments, just not a fan of the stuff in between. That being said, I haven't watched the whole thing in ages, might have to try a re-watch.

For me Troy was good but Gladiator is better.

Na! Troy was way better! 300 and only then, Gladiator

and if we're going "Movies set in ancient/old times" lets throw Braveheart in there somewhere, The Messenger was kinda bland, Kingdom of Heaven was mildy ok, I'm not sure where to put Alexander (2004)
