Basically everything Nolan's made has been excellent, imo, so quite happy to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Well the previous version wasn't anywhere accurate anyway.
Battle at Stirling Bridge, no bridge. William Wallace wasn't actually Brave heart that was Robert the Bruce, William Wallace was a minor noble, they didn't wear kilts or face paint and and and

Yeah, the list of historical inaccuracies in Braveheart is pretty long -for such a praised movie it really has a long list of things that are incorrect. The "prima nocta" scene, which does such a great job of making the Engish seem like monsters, also has zero historical basis in fact

Yup so honestly, Elliot/Ellen Page in it, wouldn't be much further from the truth then that movie was.

It’s more the visual aspect. With the magic of cinema we can all suspend our disbelief from time to time. Sometimes, not so much.
