Gammon, chicken, Lamb or Beef roast, roast potatoes, Trifle.
The good bubbly wine.

Gammon, Cold Cuts, Smoked Chicken, Potato Salad and a ton of side dishes (typical Boertjie fare).
Plus we hang out at my Brother-in-Law's farm.

This year - Brother-in-Law is getting a couple of platters and I'm making a Milk Tart. Taking it easy and spending Xmas in the pool with booze.
2021's been rough with too many passings and plain k@k luck...

Having lunch on a friends campsite at the dam not far from my spot, about 300 meters

His new girlfriend will be doing other colourful veggies as well

If you haven't been curing your gammon for Xmas since Aug, can you really call it Xmas anymore?

Personally my one daughter is Xmas -deranged- so whole family gets together for the Xmas weekend & its a whole do, like you wouldn't believe. We've gone cold meats & salads like we don't get snow in Dec for roast & Yorkshire pudding (altho, I keep making them anyway since everyone asks for them). As the dad I'm responsible for the meat so I just whack a gammon in the slow cooker 2 days before & everyone goes gaga over the depth of my prowess in the kitchen, lol.

For everyone else, Woolies has a 25% off rewards special on 2 x festive meats today only so, pitter patter mfs..

My plan for Xmas lunch is to do a Turducken.

It will be my first time trying it and I wanna do it on the spit

Mutton curry, prawn curry, roast chicken with stuffing, roast leg of lamb and gravy. Various salads and sides.

Ice cream, cake, fruit salad maybe.

Booze. Loosening of belts.

Usually have a large meal for us 4, every other year we combine both families and everyone brings food. This year we won't be home though, will be at a guesthouse so will just have a braai probably.
