Christmas tech wishlist

Okay, you've shared it. Move on then instead of harping on about it.
I don't remember ever asking for your permission to do a single solitary thing. So suck it up or use the very convenient ignore button. I really have no preference either way.

Not a gamer so I have no thoughts about them one way or the other.
Fact is, there's plenty of overpriced tech on the market. It doesn't matter if people are willing to pay the price. Still overpriced.
Whats you view on having pap and wors for Christmas lunch? Buying other more expensive meat make people idiots? It's all relative.

Are you upset because you can't afford an iPhone for Christmas?

Why does it bother you what I think?
Its more amusing than anything else. If you cant afford something then everybody who can is an idiot. Listen to yourself.

I'd be more upset if someone gave me an iPhone. Quite the assumption that I couldn't afford it simply because I believe it's overpriced. But I also don't care if you do or don't.

Is your girlfriend angry because you didn't get her one?

I have no problem understanding value. Point is that there is not 37k worth of value in a phone. Regardless of income etc. And if you can justify spending that much on a phone then you've got more money than sense. End of.

Given how much most of us use our phone in a single day, and for how many people it’s their only camera being used to capture family moments and events, not only do I not have a problem spending R35k on an iPhone (especially with a big trade-in from the previous one) but I see it as incredible value.

For god knows how many hours in a year or two (depending on your upgrade cycle) you get arguably the best phone experience available, cameras that are starting to infringe on DSLR territory, two day battery life, iOS and so on.

I’m not defending myself so much as pointing out the absurdity in you putting down anything that is either unaffordable to you or represents too great an opportunity cost. But don’t let me stop you from slumming it with a mediocre phone that takes mediocre photos with mediocre battery life.

Right, because you have to not be able to afford something to think it's overpriced.
Difference is, I don't care if you have a cheap and nasty phone. Nor do I judge said POS phone or who owns it.

You buy it, it's yours. Move along, why wine about what others have and you don't. Makes you sound salty?

It's his girlfriend who is salty and he's dealing with the fallout.

Most cheap androids will give you two day battery life.

Very kind of you. My phone, which is actually worth the price, has a perfectly decent camera and battery life probably rivals your iPhone.

This is why I place so much on the camera and what it can do

In 2019 I was lucky enough to go abroad and haven't been since - I'm happy I could capture everything and look back

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro has a 108 megapixel camera ;)
