Chrome 10 is looking lean and mean

The beta version of Chrome 10 can be downloaded now.

Figured I needed to upgrade from 8 and I just installed Chrome 11 beta

I'm on Chrome 11 (nightlies) and loving it.

EDIT: on Linux of course. I pity the fool that's forced to use Winblows.

Ja Chrome in Ubuntu is rock solid and I wouldn't use anything else. Can't really comment on Windows, haven't used it on any of my PCs in a while.

You probably need to install propriety fonts still.

First thing I did after installing Ubuntu was to install Ubuntu-restricted-extras.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I have tried & tried to get the fonts to display properly in Chrome, till I decided to use Firefox again. Maybe Ubuntu just doesn't like my widescreen notebook.

Using the GTK+ theme also didn't work.

You're obviously either a masochist or have been indoctrinated. No one in their right mind would *choose* to use that POS.

Please enlighten me as to what Linux offers over Windows 7 for the average home user. Hell in the end even though I work with Gentoo and various Ubuntu distros at work I always install Windows on my main workstation, Putty and SecureCRT work fine off on it.

Using Linux with a GUI never made sense to me, it offers very little advantages over any Windows PC.

+1000 never understood the point of trying to RAM your opinion on others, try the software or hardware if you like it use it otherwise don't there are far more important things to stress about in life

Out of interest, how would you install chrome 11 in linux? I keep getting 10 for some reason (it is called chromium right?)

I love the speed of Crome, but the customizability and add-ons of Firefox just works for me

Indeed, I mess around with Chrome because I can, but FF is still my browser of choice.
