Chrome + HTML5 = Angry Birds WIN!

Thank a MILL. Just yesterday I searched for a download .. and there you have it:D

It's not that surprising, imho. I've seen some pretty impressive stuff done in HTML5 before. Oh, and I've grown bored with Angry Birds - finished the original, Seasons and Rio on my SGS already... ;)

Come on guys, this is all about the development. the fact that they managed to code something like that using HTML5 is brilliant.

wink ;) wink ;)

Yeah I know :P It's sure a marvel, but not something new. Been having fun with Pirates Love Daisies for a while now (IE + HTML5) which also works great in chrome of coarse :)

Ok im confused
And a bit embarrassed to ask
but is it really coded with html5 ?
I dont see anything like html5 just embedded .js

HTML 5 is best! Not a fan of angry birds (weird right?) but this is sweet :) Thanks

IMHO I think this whole HTML5 thing is way over-hyped...Alot of this was perfectly possible before it, it just wasn't done.

This video shows how to create a physics-based mobile game using HTML5, JavaScript with appMobi and ImpactJS. "Furious Fowl" shows you how gravity, friction, interia, bounciness, health, and collision can be easily created and controlled in JavaScript. Games created with appMobi and ImpactJS can be.

pretty cool

I'm not a web developer, so I don't know how to answer exactly.

The article I read about this said it uses some HTML5 features for local storage and the graphics/sounds.

yeah media controls would be easier in html5.
css3 would also come into it, as well as better js rendering and possible gpu performance improvements which chrome & ff4 allow.
i see some of the audio is done using flash...

they use sprites quite a bit too.
