Chromebook Software updates expired

Hi Ya'll

Just want to check that im ok. I have an old Chromebook that went out of AUE. Got the message stating that i will receive no new updates.

I went the route of enabling 4 Lacros flags and it seemed all good for a while until i got an update notification in the browser...
When i click on it tho it prompts me to install chrome...Which i obviously dont wanna do because im using the Lacros browser.

I just want to know if anyone else has experienced the same and what the fix is?

It seems that Lacros is stuck on version 105. something and doesnt update any further?

Am i doing something wrong ?

I know you bought a chromebook to be a chromebook, have you considered Linux?

I havent had a good look at the details but i am aware of this... but doesnt it entail opening up the chromebook and removing some stuff from the hardware ?
