Morning all - anyone with insight on what it takes to get access to the api or how look ups and verifications are done ? I see they have a free manual option ? any ideas or direction ?

Did anyone find out how to do this in the end? I know there is a third party pbDigital that does this, but obviously at a cost.

To the best of my knowledge, that API does not work any more. Since they moved to BizPortal, everything has gone pearshaped.

This, CIPC has moved to BizPortal. Lookups are done there now. You also need to be logged in to do any searches

From what I've been told, the API used to work reasonably well. The trouble, like with so many things in SA is that some bureaucrat got greedy and now they even charge for front end searches (you have 100 free a day, then you'll have to start paying). And the only way to run any sort of API is to buy the whole data set in bulk from them.

Depends. I can understand limiting searches etc, hosting, db's , queries are not free. It's not about greed.

Yeah so even on my end been trying to get my client setup and seems their system is still under development so cannot use it at all nor can you even make an account. Was on call with them for a half an hour and basically they said they dont know when itll be complete.
