Circumcision

Forget it Bru! I am not hacking off my joey cos the govt. thinks it will cure their epidemic.

I've got a better idea... how about my wife and I just sleep with each other for the rest of our lives! ;)

Then you succeeded with A and B. However not everyone is as good as you and you'll find many youngsters (in the EU and USA) not just in Africa,
do it without condoms or fidelity. You also don't have to hack off your
worm. :)

Ok this post might get me banned from this forum but it has to be said. The FUC*EN retards who this that CIRCUMCISION is going to prevent AIDS from being transmitted deserve to be SHOT IN THE FUC*EN HEAD!!!

With regards to it being "cleaner" to be circumcised it used to be when people were living in desserts and not washing for months. Then **** could get infected! Nowadays if you just wash thoroughly it cant be a difference, i don't see how it can be "unclean". I do understand some religions prefer it but this FUC*ED up nonsense about if you aren't circumcised then your junk is filthy is bullsh*t.

And i say it again, how the **** can circumcision prevent or even lower the rate of HIV transmission?? It is an STD the fluid is going to get through anyways!

Next time read the link and you'll know. The cells lining the foreskin contain specific receptors to which HIV binds and is able to so enter these cells. Once it enters these cells it is in your body and can enter the blood stream and the white blood cells (CD4 lymphocytes) and start its reign of havoc.
With the foreskin gone, there is less of these cells on the dried out head (glans) of the penis and the chance of HIV connecting to them is reduced
significantly. It's not about cleanliness.

Circumcision is one element of the global war on HIV/AIDS. Its a good tool to combat the spread of HIV because interventions like condoms - WHICH MODIFY the PLEASURE OR SPONTANEITY OF SEX - are less likely to be used
CONSISTENLY. Note the capitalisation of the words.

This does not mean everyone must be forcefully circumcised. All it means is that we can cut down on the number of infections by offering to people who
are at highest risk so that we can have fewer HIV cases in teh world and SA and spend less freaking SA Rands on imported ANTI-HIV meds and medical products and so cut our spending and have a healthier economy. Gee ....

What a load of karp. oi. They have it all wrong. Its not just the foreskin you need to remove to limit HIV infection; you need to cut it off at the base.

To reduce promiscuity castration (removal of the testicles) would be a better option, to comment on your question.

btw i think the study was heavily skewed and i will explain why, i was reading another report on the same subject, i.e. Circumcision vs Hiv rates and one of the things which they noted, kinda in opposition was that whilst it may appear on paper to be true, the real success was better health care + awareness.

Unlike other parts in the world, Africa has a higher % of teen/adult circumcision compared to other places. This combined with the fact that a strictly traditional circumcision is being replaced with proper health care workers is an opportune time to instill some sex education. Hence in the report it was said that one cannot look strictly at it as circumcision = lower risk per say, but the combination of it with increased sex education has resulted in lower risks.

One thing that circumcision does seem to reduce the risk of HIV transmission.
While this may be true, it is only female to male transmission which would be reduced. One then has to ask what woman is one sleeping with who has sex without insisting on some kind of male or female condom protection?
Whether cut or un-cut one should still use protection.

I had it done when I was 21, it was extremely uncomfortable , and I couldnt walk properly for about 3 weeks after, but the sex is better afterwards !!!

I would like to know who volunteered to be the test subjects. Did they put out a flyer saying :

We looking for 100 circumcised men and a 100 non circumcised men to do HIV and Aids trials?

And please how are you going to prove the validity of test if you do not run them in a controlled environment.
Or are you going to believe everything they tell you as scientifically true because you believe they do not lie?
Or are You going to circumcise some monkeys?

The problem is that if circumcision really did have any significant benefit, then countries that circumcise would have significantly lower AIDS rates than similar ones that don't (same for tribes). Yet this is not the case. AIDS and circumcision rates are all over the place, varying widely, and very strongly suggesting that there's no correlation at all (never mind causality).

And in those countries they have stronger religious believes, which make them prone to be less sexually active as the more liberal people.
I just doubt the validity of these statements these people make. It sounds allot like the beetroot theory.

Its not beetroot theory... it is a valid study.
I just think its dangerous to tell people that they wont get AIDS if they cut the skin off their knob !

What are you suggesting?

Agreed. But beetroot will keep you healthier if you were eating just starch so in the end the principal of that theory was also a good one. But was pulled out of per portion by people proclaiming a cure.
By saying circumcision will reduce your risk is encouraging unsafe sex.
Double edged sword?
I reckon.

Oh boy! I had it done when I was 20 and it was hell for 4 weeks. Your penis is not used to being exposed so u have to prevent it from moving to avoid the irritation. Bled for about a 2 weeks due to busted stitches because of night erections :D

LOL. Getting "cut" before hormones kick in FTW. Before 10 should be fine as long as it's before erections start and before you get addicted to w@nking/sex.

re

So where and how is this procedure done....been thinking about it for a while....don't mind the pain but would like to know the cost for someone that doesn't have medical aid....also is it done in a hospital or can one go to any doctor.
