Cisco Router Alternative

Hello,

We've applied for a telkom diginet line to connect our two branches so that the one branch can be able to use the voip that is setup at the other branch, but telkom recommended cisco routers for each branch. is there a cheaper alternative to cisco router
 
Yip,
HP routers are just as decent and a fraction of the price
Take a look at the entry level MSR20
 
Mikrotik routers are way cheaper, we've been using them for years.
 
X.21 to ethernet converter....though will be difficult to source one. Otherwise get a couple cisco routers off ebay.

I would go with the Cisco option or the HP. Sometimes though if the service provider, Telkom in your case is saying go CISCO then they may have a particular reason why and using other hardwar may not provide the level of service that you want.
Did you ask Telkom for alternatives or better still ask them why cIsco in particular.

I suspect telkom suggests it because they are a cisco house, and get massive discounts on cisco equipment.
