I have a frontloader that I want to put in, it is currently in a VW Polo. Will I be able to swap it out myself or is it best to go in somewhere.

I also have JVC 6x9's and a subwoofer, So all I need is an amp right?

Thanks

That would depend on your knowledge of this stuff...

Generally, it would be best to leave it to the pros. Shouldn't cost much anyway.

I used to run my headunit into 4 inches and 6x9s, then got a separate amp for my sub and the system worked great.

Would you recommend any amp? I'm looking for something cheap, but not complete crap....

Also would you know if it is possible to install mids into the car as I don't like all the sound coming from the back? It's a 1990 model and there are no speakers in front?

Are you ONLY having those 6X9s - or something upfront too?

Well I thought for the moment only the 6x9's and the sub, and then when I get more money I will put in mids in the front if it is possible.

I'd put the speakers in the front doors. Otherwise all the sound will be in the back. Not cool.

I actually do agree - even small, crappy speakrs just not EVERYTHING is from the rear.

Anyway - you'd need a 4ch amplifier to drive what you want (2 channels bridged for for the sub, and 1 for each speaker).

When you get more money, use the same amp and keep the two bridged for the sub - BUT use the other two for decent speakers upfront. You hardly need back speakers anyway.

So will I be able to put 6x9's in the doors?!?!?

Sweet!?

Haha, it is the same as normal speakers, just the backing is a different shape.

But, you will be better off with decent 6" coax's in the front doors and just the sub in the back.

Yeah but no moneys. :) I will when I have money....

Pretty sure the doors will be too thin for 6x9s :/

Any decent speaker won't be flush on a Citi Golf, IIRC

Man everyone has different advice.:(

Think it will be best to just take it to car audio chaps.

Yes, they will not be flush. No speaker will be. The doors are really thin :o

But my 6" fronts are mounted in my doors and they do not stick out very much at all. 6 x 9s would stick out a bit more but the sounds in the front part of the car would be pretty decent.

I'd go with some quality 6" or 6.5" fronts, rather though.

I'm going on your budget.

If I gave *my* advice, I'd say leave 6x9s totally - rather get splits of even coaxial up front.

Yeah I agree with you guys about the 6x9's and rather having the other ones but thing is I already have the 6x9's, they came with the car, and as far as I know they are not bad. They're not installed though as they were new.

Ok so this is what I have: Frontloader, Sub (think it's 15") and two JVC 6x9's

I went to an audio place and they quoted me R2700.00 That's for supplying the amp, and two 5" Sony speakers for the doors, as well as all the installation...

Is this a reasonable quote?
