Civilization 5 - It Might Be Here By Year End

So Civ 5 is on the way! Having owned and played, literally, to death all the Civ titles (except Civ 1), I am so, so excited to hear the next chapter is on the way. The news is like best-ever Christmas present except it is still February

My Gaming announces it here. So a huge thanks for the heads-up guys.

Haven't found any in-game footage, but look forward to same.

Now, am I more excited about the "imminent" arrival of Starcraft II or Civ 5? Eish! Difficult Choice

I really hope they did not try to dumb it down, the lily livered console hardware can keep up. Civilization 1 was the first time I played a game until the sun came up. Civilization IV + "History in the making" mod is my current favorite game. If your Quad 3Ghz, 8GB RAM PC is not groaning when you hit the "end turn" button, your're not playing real strategy game

Have to agree. Would be a sad day if they dumb it down. New wonders would be good. Graphics, for me, in Civ 4 are still good.

Well, I guess it aint for everyone.
But this has to be one of the best game series that I have ever played, can't wait for Civ 5.

Damn you all! Now I'm contemplating installing Civ 4 and getting the mod. I only just got my life back from Red Dead Redemption!

You may as well play Civ 4 while you wait for "5". You can get the entire Civ 4 series quite cheap at the moment.

Red Dead Redemption, so was it that good? Tried to find a demo for it last week and failed miserably Links here would be welcomed

Red Dead was great, but I have no idea where a demo can be found. I played on the Xbox. Similar mechanics to GTA4, but a major improvement in my opinion, and I really enjoyed GTA4.
