Hi Guys

I have heard, that using maize meal to clean white canvas shoes. But there are so many variations to the way its used, I have been told to use it raw but others say I must cook it first. Could you guys clarify what I need to do? Or if it works?

Thanks in advance

Jizz all over you shoes then let it lie overnight. Works wonders for keeping 'em white :)

Maize meal does work to a certain extend...don't expect it to totally remove coffee stains, wine stains,...etc, but it will remove that brown trail left behind by water(since our tap water is of low quality and dirty) when the shoes dry...just apply a generous amount of the maize meal(not cooked) to the shoes, preferably inside(on the cloth parts) and outside the shoes, just after rinsing and leave to dry...that's it...

Thanks guys, I've used the washing machine but it seems like the mud stains were there to stay. I'll try MickeyD's suggestion. Thanks a lot guys

Are u sure it was mud stains or just brown marks left by the water?

The Maize Meal, would only need to be applied after washing and brushed off once dry.

Okay I will try that, it is only showing the top of the shoes, so assumed it was mud

i left mine in jik for an hour.Bad mistake, the shoes were clean ,but the smell of jik lingered on for days.
